What is the step/direction pulse width and is it possible to change it?

Sorry, I had not read far enough..I see there is a post regarding this below.
I am still confused though.
Could you clarify one point?
Basically the signals are passing through optical isolation...the optical
isolator is a little slow, needs 20 to
25us to have a clean signal pass through.
I saw the text about the duty cycle. Is it possible to slow the frequency down a bit to get the fatter pulse or will that mess up the hardware controller?
